What to Donate

Your merchandise donations are vital to Impact's continued success. To further assist us, please read the list below for items we cannot accept, and for condition requirements for those items we do accept. As always, your continued support—along with cooperation with these guidelines—will enable Impact Thrift to be even more effective in the future.

How to Donate

Drop it off

Merchandise donations are gratefully accepted at any of our store locations, Monday–Saturday between 8:30am and 5pm. Please drop off the donations at the designated drop off area located on the side of the building in Montgomeryville and Hatboro, or behind the building in Norristown.

We ask that you place clothing, bed linens, and table linens in large plastic bags. Please place your other donations in boxes that have lids or are able to be closed. This enables your donated items to stay clean, dry, and secure on our trucks and in our warehouses. Please wrap/secure all cords to lamps and small appliances.

Donation Drives

A collection drive can be a fun neighborhood, school, church, synagogue, or corporate event. Impact Thrift Stores are stocked 100% with donated items. It takes a lot of donations to fill our stores and keep them full. Collection drives are an easy way to get people involved and collect a truck full of donations at the same time. These are fun family, neighborhood, and community events, and often involve more than just dropping off a donation. One supporter hosted a winter donation drive in her neighborhood and invited all of her neighbors over to enjoy hot chocolate and fellowship after dropping off their donations. Use this opportunity to piggy-back another event, such as a Girl Scout cookie sale or a Boy Scout popcorn drive. Others have gotten local businesses to participate by donating free donuts or coupons to all those who come and bring a donation. The possibilities are endless! Why Donate

We’re Charitable - Over $1 million donated to local charities since 2003—Impact Thrift is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, and financially supports 16 locally-based charities with profits from the operation of our thrift stores. Your merchandise donations are essential to our continued success! Click here for more information.

We Repurpose - Together we do more than recycle. Impact Thrift Stores repurposes your donations of gently-used merchandise by selling items you no longer need to those who are delighted to put them back in service.

We’re Green - Impact Thrift responsibly recycles such items as clothing, metals, belts, shoes, purses and non-functioning electronics that can not be sold in our stores. Click here for more information.

We Need You - Our stores are stocked 100% by donated merchandise, so your donations are essential to our success. Running a successful Impact Thrift store takes a community effort. Together we make a difference—we make an impact.

We Make It Easy - Drop things off at any one of our three stores, Monday through Saturday from 8:30am to 5pm. Schedule one of our trucks for a free pick up of larger furniture and appliances that won't fit in your car. Click here to contact Impact Thrift at scheduling@impactthrift.org for more information.

We’re Hiring - Impact Thrift currently employs over 100 people in the local community. Your donated items help make this possible. Click here for job opportunities.

We Educate - Impact Thrift’s Education Program teaches local high school and college students about the American free enterprise system and the important role charities play in our community.

We Support - Impact Thrift is a great place for both mandatory and volunteer community service. Get involved—it's fun helping us help others.

We Help - Downsizing or moving? How helpful would it be to have Impact Thrift come by with a truck and pick up the things you will no longer need?

We Care - Have you recently experienced the loss of someone close to you? When you’re ready, Impact Thrift can be there to help. With so many people in need, it can be a comfort to know that things can be used by others who will make good use of them.
