Impact Thrift Stores Honored by Hatboro Chamber of Commerce
May 23, 2011
The Greater Hatboro Chamber of Commerce honored four individuals and businesses for their service to the community Feb. 26 at the biennial Borough Ball, held at Spring Mill Country Club in Ivyland. “The Borough Ball celebrates individuals, businesses and organizations that are making a difference in our community,” said Chamber President Chris Dubil. “We invite everyone who lives, works, shops or spends time in Hatboro to help us honor them and enjoy an evening of hospitality and fellowship.”
Dubil tapped for the “President’s Award,” Hatboro-based Impact Thrift Stores, a nonprofit organization which supports 16 area charities with proceeds generated by stores in Hatboro, Montgomeryville and Norristown.
Impact supports the chamber’s efforts in a myriad of ways, said Dubil. Its management team and employees help with all the downtown events the chamber presents for the community, and Treasurer and CEO Allan M. Chagan has, for many years, served as a chamber vice president heading the Retail Merchants division. Dubil also noted the effect Impact’s efforts have had on area charities – it recently hit the $1 million mark in contributions – allowing it, as Impact’s mission states, “to do what they do best – feeding the hungry, housing the homeless, and supporting children and families in need.”http://buxmontnews.com/2011/02/16/hatboro-chamber-of-commerce-to-present-honors-at-borough-ball/
